Currently Asterix has three fraternities that provide its members with some extra activities and bonding. Each fraternity organizes a yearly activity for Asterix.
Bellefleur is Asterix’s women’s sorority aiming to bring together the female members within the association. The sorority organizes activities of various kinds, ranging from sports, eating together, and playing games, but mostly is seen as a group of women within Asterix in which initiative can be taken to do things together. Other Asterix members also are once in a while invited to Bellefleur’s cake party, where new Bellefleur members show off their baking skills!
HoefNIX, the ‘gezelligste’ dispuut of Asterix! HoefNIX was officially founded as dispuut early 2019 by a group of athletes who were not only active on the track but also very fanatic outside of the track! The group of six founders often found themselves enjoying the drinks and activities of Asterix very much and decided to create the dispuut to have even more reasons to get together and raise the glasses! You may recognise this extraordinary group of Gauls by their beautiful purple jackets, which they wear frequently at drinks.
In April 2019, HoefNIX was officially approved as dispuut in the GMA. Ever since, the dispuut organises one activity for Asterix in the fall each year, usually a beer tasting or cantus. Over the years, the dispuut has expanded with even more activity-active Gauls. These members, along with the founders, had to complete HoefNIX’s infamous meter activity. During the infamous meter activity, one orders a meter of beer (11 glasses of 0.25L) and they will have all night to consume this by themselves. After the meter, the HoefNIX-member-to-be receives one more drink from the Druïde (yes that’s actually a role in the board). Having consumed all drinks, the Gaul can then officially call themselves a HoefNIX member! Over the years many Gauls have completed this impressive feat, with HoefNIX member count being 18 now.
As members become older, and ‘burger’ over the years, new blood is added to keep the relation to Asterix active. HoefNIX hopes to add a lot of additional ‘gezelligheid’ for Asterix members!
The Herendispuut Toutatis, named after God Toutatis, the God worshiped in our Gallië to keep guard of the Asterix village, was created on the 4th of July 2022. And, it has been since day one living up to its hype: Being the fastest dispuut of the Netherlands!
Toutatis was founded by five enthousiastic members that wanted to create a dispuut that had at its core values fraternal ties, unity and gezelligheid. A dispuut focused on pushing each other for better perfomances, supporting each other and enjoying each others company in a fun and relaxed way, while having athletics at its core.
From traveling together to the deep unkown that is Belgium to watch the Diamond League live, to participating in inter-dispuut tournaments, including the world renowned Bras Gala, to becoming national medallists in the NK Beerestafette and the NSK Baan Olympic relay. And to even visiting the rollercoaster in France named after the great God of Toutatis in late 2023. This represents Toutatis. A true sense of fun and unity through athletics!
But it's not all competition! Every month, the members gather themselves, with their distinctive black and purple polos, and have a very fun dispuutavond all together, organized by two of its members. Every month its a different activity, different topic, a different surprise. And every month, a great time.
And Toutatis takes pride in its attire and merchandise. From its absolutely adorable mascot named Bolt, a very brave boar that is very dear to the fraternity, to its enormous flag that can be spotted regularly, or their distinctive custom polos and ties.
This men's fraternity may be young but it has had a big impact in such a small time frame. From providing its members a great sense of companionship and fun, to showing the world how fast and loud they are with their very masculine scream, Toutatis is here to stay and have their members have the time of their life!
